Everyone loves a good cheeseburger, unless you're lactose intolerant, or a vegetarian, or you're allergic to wheat, or if you're just not a big fan of cheeseburgers. Regardless, the classic argument arises of course, is it better to eat food at school or at home?
Food at home is a great way to satisfy the munchies. Creative freedom allows you to make whatever comes to mind. From baked potatoes and chili to pancakes and applesauce. The sky is the limit. However, there are a few problems. Money would definitely be one of them, going out to the store and buying all the necessary items will end up costing you more in the long run. Then there is the time issue, making a full meal can take anywhere from five to an hour and forty-five minutes. Most people have that much time to spare, but time is money and money makes the world go round and a penny saved is a penny earned and an apple a day keeps the doctor away.
On the other hand, don't dismiss on-campus eating. It's fairly fast and the prices are reasonable. Then there's the entertainment factor. In the cafeteria you can eat your food while interacting with interesting new strangers, or less interesting old friends. The cafeteria is often host to many unique performers and diverse activities, including singing, dancing and even balloon animal making. Unfortunately, it can get pretty loud, and sometimes it can be a little difficult to find an empty table.
Then there's eating at the places between the two. Whether their food is fast or normal speed, restaurants around the campus are enjoying plenty of business from the college. Corey Niehaus, assistant manager at the Subway close to the campus, says that since the start of the new quarter, "It's been busy; we have to get prepared in the morning." Food dealing has been pretty good at the New York Pizza and Sandwiches. Pam Kaur, who works there, says that "Business is good. The people like everything." Restaurants have many good qualities, but they are the carriers of a most annoying feature, lines. Long lines are a true test of patience and mental fortitude.
