Sounders sell out, shut out San Jose
Date:
May 8, 2009 (All day)

The Seattle Sounders are scoring once again.

After two losses, the Sounders had to go up against San Jose on April 25. The game was their fourth sell-out at home with 28,838 people attending, which set a new record in attendance for Major League Soccer.

The Sounders ended up beating San Jose 2-0. The first goal was scored by number 11, Steve Zakuani, and the assist was given to number 14, Tyrone Marshall. The second goal was scored by number three, Brad Evans, and Zakuani had the assist.

Number 18, Kasey Keller, is the goalkeeper for the Sounders. After the San Jose game he had gone 389 minutes with no goals being scored on him, which is also a new record. (He wasn't in the previous couple of games due to a red card he had gotten in a previous game.) Ronald Waterreus had set the old record in 2007 at 375 minutes.

Two fans of the Sounders are Kyle McDonald and Zac Griffen; they both believe that the Sounders are playing very well as a team.

The Sounders now have a record of 4-2-1. They have beaten the Red Bulls, Red Salt Lake, Toronto FC, and the Earthquakes; they lost against the Chivas USA and the Wizards. They are in second place with Chivas USA beating them by one point in the Western Conference, but they have only just started the season, so anything can happen.
