The 2010 EvCC baseball team made the NWAACC North Region Tournament for the ninth straight year, the only team in the region to accomplish such a feat.
Unfortunately for the Trojans, a trip to the regional tournament did not translate into an NWAACC Tournament appearance as they lost to Bellevue on the final day of the tournament.
The regional tournament sends the top four regular season teams to a double elimination format, with the regular season champ getting an automatic berth to the NWAACC Tournament. With Edmonds taking the regular season pennant, the Tritons were already locked in, but needed to win the tourney to take the North's no. 1 seed. Everett, Bellevue and Skagit Valley were all vying for the one remaining slot.
Everett got the tournament rolling against Bellevue on May 21, but the Bulldogs of Bellevue proved too much for the streaky Trojans, as they paved their way through the Trojans by a score of 8-1. The lone bright spot for Everett was Mike Gange going 3-4 for the game.
Everett then squared off with the Cardinals of Skagit Valley in a loser out game. The Trojans kept their hopes for an NWAACC appearance alive by edging the Cardinals 6-5. Freshman Braden Allen picked up the win, and Jace Sloan and Levi Cartas both went 3-5 for Everett, who got 13 hits.
Still facing elimination, Everett had to beat tournament host Edmonds, on May 22. Danny Romero recorded the win, and added nine strike-outs in a 6-3 victory for the Trojans. That game secured Edmonds the no. 2 seed out of the North in the NWAACCs, and gave the Trojans a rematch with Bellevue with winner going to the NWAACCs as the North's no. 1 seed. Everett needed to beat Bellevue twice, while Bellevue needed just one victory to continue their season.
In the most important game of the year, Everett managed just two runs on six hits and was defeated 6-2 to end the season. Everett was ranked no. 19 by the American Baseball Coaches Association Junior College Pacific Associations Division and no. 6 in the NWAACC Horizon Air polls respectively.
Everett finished with a 26-18 record this year.
